Flatbed Towing in Amarillo TX

A flatbed is the safest way to tow most cars on the road today. The whole vehicle goes up on the bed, gets strapped down, and rides without any wheels turning. No transmission damage. No bent axle. No scraped front bumper from a tow hook. If you are calling about a newer car, an AWD or all-wheel-drive vehicle, a lowered car, a motorcycle, or anything already wrecked - we use a flatbed. Call 806-615-3601.

When you need flatbed specifically

Some vehicles cannot be safely towed with a wheel-lift truck. Towing them by the front wheels on a wheel-lift will burn up the rear differential. Towing them backwards risks the steering. Flatbed is the only safe answer.

You should ask for flatbed towing if you have:

  • An AWD or 4WD vehicle (Subaru, most Toyota AWD, modern SUVs)
  • A newer car with electronic parking brakes
  • A lowered car, sports car, or anything with low ground clearance
  • A vehicle from a collision that cannot roll on its own wheels
  • An exotic, classic, or luxury car you want zero chance of damage on
  • A motorcycle (always - never tow a bike any other way)

What our flatbed work covers

We run flatbed tow trucks across all of Amarillo and out into the Panhandle. The bed has a hydraulic tilt, soft tie-down straps that protect wheel finishes, and we use wheel chocks instead of frame hooks so we are not putting pressure anywhere it does not belong.

Common flatbed jobs:

  • Collision tows where the car cannot roll
  • Long distance hauling where you do not want highway miles on a vehicle that just stopped working

Long distance flatbed runs

Flatbed is also the right call for long distance hauling. If your car broke down 50 miles outside Amarillo and you need it back to your home shop, putting it on a flatbed for the run beats putting 50 miles on whatever just broke. We run flatbed tows out to Lubbock, Dumas, Pampa, Borger, and across the Panhandle. Pricing for long distance is per mile and quoted up front before we roll a truck.

What it looks like on scene

We pull up, lower the bed, hook the winch line to the right point on your car (usually the tow hook eyelet, never the bumper), and pull it slowly up onto the bed. Then strap it down at four points and we are gone. The whole load takes 5-10 minutes for a normal car. For motorcycles or low-clearance vehicles it can take a little longer because we are extra careful with the angles.
